Power House of Faith, a new church in Cape Girardeau located at 900 W. Cape Rock Drive, is pastored by the Rev. Rick Parish.
The bells of St. Mary's Cathedral -- silent since late February -- will ring out again on Easter Sunday following extensive repairs to the mounts on which the bells rest; the wooden timbers on which the three heavy bells were mounted were found to be badly deteriorated, after the church choir heard unusual sounds and vibrations coming from the bell tower.
The first meeting toward adoption of a city annexation plan was held last night by the city council, the planning and zoning commission and representatives of the Campster and Kage school districts; under consideration is the extension of the city limits westward to include Interstate 55, generally between Hopper Road and Bloomfield Road, though no definite plan has been advanced.
Culvert extension work on Highway 61 in Cape Girardeau has been started as the opening task of the major urban highway improvement; the extensions are being made to conform to the future width of the highway, 50 feet.

BENTON, Mo. -- Dr. C.T. Gale of Zanesville, Ohio, was here the first part of the week visiting old friends; Gale practiced medicine in Benton 33 years ago, and this is his first visit back since that time.
