Steve Cohen, staff evangelist with Jews for Jesus, presents "Christ in the Passover" at Lynwood Baptist Church; the program's purpose is to enhance Christian understanding of the New Testament by showing the Jewish background for the communion celebration.

BENTON, Mo. -- A new parish center was dedicated recently at St. Denis Catholic Church; built on the site of the former parish convent, the center houses a gym, two classrooms, computer room, principal's office, faculty lounge and kitchen.

One of the Peenemuende group of scientists, who pioneered missiles in Germany before and during World War II and afterward came to the United States to guide its missile program, will represent the National Aeronautics and Space Administration next week at the eighth annual Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair; Dr. Gerhard H.R. Reisig, special assistant to Dr. Wernher von Braun at the Marshal Space Station, will evaluate exhibits and select winners in each of the NASA-designated categories.

The State College Indians fall to State College of Iowa, 93-85, at Evansville, Ind.'s Roberts Stadium, eliminating the Cape Girardeau team from further play in the NCAA College Division National Tournament.

The $225,000 addition to Saint Francis Hospital will be opened to the public for inspection tomorrow afternoon and will then be put into use; a formal dedication will be held later.

Professor O.L. Wilcox, of the music department at Teachers College and a member of the American Legion, has been secured as musical director for the Golden Troopers; this is the first year the corps will have such an official.

A remonstrance is being circulated on Bellevue Street to oppose the paving proposition of that street, which is now before the city council.

Last night, a car of potatoes was derailed near Fruitland on the Cape Girardeau Northern Railroad, the car turning over and rolling down a dump; the roof of the car was torn off, and the potatoes spilled out into the mud; today, two section crews are busy taking the Murphies out of the wreck and transferring them to another car.
