Cape Girardeau County Democrats who participated in yesterday's presidential caucus chose uncommitted delegates; presidential hopeful Gov. Bill Clinton of Arkansas won three delegates from county, and Sen. Paul Tsongas of Massachusetts took two delegates; about 100 registered Democrats participated in county caucus.
Winter made unwelcome and untimely return to Cape Girardeau Tuesday, making seven consecutive days of 70-plus degree temperatures last week just a pleasant memory.

One hundred-sixty high school boys here to play in state Class B basketball tournament, which starts tonight, represent 16 towns from every section of state; teams are Savannah, Gilman City, Atlanta, Pattonsburg, Shelbyville, Kearney, Fayette, Montgomery City, Lamonte, John Burroughs, Waynesville, Annapolis, Wheaton, Branson, Birch Tree and Puxico.
Candidates for city office are provided rostrum by Business and Professional Women's Club from which they can expound their views on municipal matters; all three candidates for mayor and nine of 19 candidates for commissioner speak.
75 years ago: March 11, 1927
As income tax collectors from state auditor's office started their drive in this county against delinquent income taxpayers, letters were sent out to many Girardeans advising them that they hadn't made out returns for previous years.
Annual meeting and election of officers of Cape Girardeau Country Club was held last night; three new members of board of governors were elected: W.F. Bergmann, H.B. Newman and B.J. Sands; at present there are 120 active club members.
