John and Evelyn Boardman have purchased three old brick buildings in the 100 block of Independence on the southeast corner of Independence and Spanish streets; the couple plans to renovate the buildings for use as their residence, as well as for John Boardman's architectural office and Evelyn Boardman's Madder Rose Antiques store.
Carl Penzel, who retired in 1981 as president of Penzel Construction Co. of Jackson, yesterday was presented the Jackson Heritage Award by the Jackson Heritage Association.
SIKESTON, Mo. -- Two young farmers of near Dexter, Mo., were slightly injured yesterday when their small plane nosed into mud at the airport here as they were landing; they are Alva Stutts and Bob Brown, both Air Force pilots in World War II; the 1947 model Beechcraft-Bananza plane was virtually destroyed.
