ADVANCE, Mo. -- Liquor store and tavern were destroyed by fire last night in main business section of Advance; Joe Tilly, operator of liquor store, estimates loss in both establishments at around $15,000.

Georgia Lazanas, Benton-Clio candidate, is this year's Sagamore Queen; queen was chosen by vote of State College students.

Salvation Army is planning to aid worthy poor of Cape Girardeau on Christmas; about 100 baskets will be distributed to needy families.
