The Rev. Owen Dahlor, assistant pastor at the First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, has submitted his resignation and will become pastor of the Nall Avenue Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan.

75 years ago: Nov. 24, 1932

Thanksgiving Day. The Ministerial Alliance sponsors a union service at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. R.L. Harrell, pastor of First Christian Church, as speaker.

Silas S. Smith has a lot to be thankful for; it is his 99th birthday, and he enjoys a Thanksgiving dinner with his son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. H.L. Cunningham, at Northview Farm; he has made his home with them for 26 years.

100 years ago: Nov. 24, 1907

The fixtures for the trust company arrived by boat yesterday and will be installed in the big Himmelberger-Harrison Building at once; a few days ago, the monster doors for the vaults came and will soon be in working order; officials of the trust company hope to be in their new quarters about the middle of December.

A peculiar mishap at the pumping station yesterday has left Cape Girardeau without water; early last week, the pumps were stopped so the settling basins could be cleaned; yesterday, when an attempt was made to restart the pumps, they refused to draw water; people who wished to take their accustomed baths delayed until today, but are again doomed to disappointment.
