The New Life World Outreach Center in Cape Girardeau holds its third Operation Reachout, feeding more than 1,000 people and supplying 300 families with blankets and winter clothing; 35 volunteer members help with the distribution, which furnishes families a complete Thanksgiving meal.

Walter Q. Adams of Cape Girardeau is the first buyer of stock in the revived Greater Cape Girardeau Development Corp.; Adams buys 40 shares -- one common and 39 preferred -- at $25 per share for an investment of $1,000.

Officials and employees working at the Common Pleas Courthouse have issued a request for nuts to feed the tame squirrels that reside in Courthouse Park.

Judge Frank Kelly will observe his 25th year on the bench of the Scott County Circuit Court at Benton, Mo., tomorrow; his first service as a jurist was at Caruthersville, Mo., when Pemiscot County was part of this judicial circuit.

ST. LOUIS -- Tony Jannus, who is scheduled to give flying demonstrations along the Cape Girardeau riverfront today, can't take off in his hydroplane because of the gale of wind prevailing here.

Will Bergman gets home from a week's hunt down in the lower counties where he joined a party of nimrods from the East; they had a splendid outing and killed three deer.
