Thanksgiving Day. A community Thanksgiving service is held in the morning at Grace Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donald Pelsue delivering the message; the offering will be divided between the International Christian University of Japan and the Ministerial Alliance.

Although the new synagogue on South Main Street isn't entirely finished, it was complete enough yesterday for use by the B'Nai Brith and Ladies' Auxiliary of the district; approximately 50 members, the largest turnout in a year, were present.

The general contract for the new factory building, to house the manufacturing plant of the Superior Electric Products Corp. of St. Louis, is awarded by the building committee of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce to Fred. W. Kurre, a local building contractor.

1912

Mrs. Fred Phillips of Peru, Ind., arrived last night to visit her brother, Herman Hilliman of Independence Street, and her sister, Mrs. Henry Krueger of Rural Route 3.

The lights were turned on at Illmo last night and at Fornfelt today; residents are jubilant that they have their own lighting system and praise Cape Electric Light Co. for the quick work installing electrical service.
