The 14 Cape Girardeau stores in which a police officer developed Blue Law violation cases Sunday apparently won't be prosecuted because both county and city prosecutors say they don't intend to file charges.
Southeast Missouri State University may get into the cable television business; a plan for establishing an independent cable TV system is being developed by Dr. A.R. Meyer, the university's vice president for administrative service; the proposal follows months of unsuccessful negotiations between the university and the local cable TV franchise holder.

Democratic success in Cape Girardeau County achieved in Tuesday's election on what appeared to be a landslide basis owes a great deal to the vote in the city of Cape Girardeau, where President-elect Roosevelt piled up a majority of nearly 2,000.
In the absence of the Rev. Theodore Ludwig from the pulpit of the German Methodist Church on South Sprigg Street in Cape Girardeau, the Rev. Henry Rosz of Decatur, Ill., preaches at both the morning and evening services; Rosz has been in this county the past week or longer preaching at some of the German churches.
No services are held at the Baptist church in Cape Girardeau, owing to the continued illness of the pastor, the Rev. J.O. Willett.
