Southeast Missouri State University is seeking two students to portray two historical ceremonial figures -- Chief Sagamore and Otahki; outfits for the mascots have been provided by the University Foundation.

A raging Texas heifer rampaged over a dozen blocks in the heart of Cape Girardeau last night, knocking down a number of people and outmaneuvering police cowboys; she finally met death in a flower bed, when a hard-swinging city firemen got in a blow with a heavy hickory baseball bat; the animal had escaped from a pen at the Miles Packing Co. Plant in South Cape, and was finally rounded up near the Themis-Benton street intersection.
Halloween pranksters were up to their old tricks again last night; not a downtown window, nor the windows or parked automobiles, escaped soaping.
E.M. Hobbs, the enterprising sand dealer, is building a new tow boat for his business, which has grown to such dimensions that more power became a necessity; the stern-wheeler will be 70 feet long and will have 120 horse power.
Drs. E.H.G. Wilson and M.E. Shelton move their offices from the building on Broadway adjoining the Hotel Idan-ha to the H.-H. Building, across the street; the hotel management, in turn, has secured a lease on the upper floor of the building lately occupied by them; they plan to make connections between the two buildings and will use the newly acquired rooms for hotel purposes.
