The Mark Twain riverboat cruises scheduled to begin here tonight and continue through Oct. 30 have been canceled; low water in the Mississippi River is the primary reason for the cancellation.

Monday's conference among the Cape Girardeau Commercial Club, members of the City Council and Frisco officials regarding improvements on the riverfront terminate as many thought it would; instead of a riprap wall and a rough-stone levee, the Frisco engineer will now endeavor to figure out a plan for putting in a combination stone and concrete wall, crowned with a parapet fence, alongside of which will be a broad concrete promenade and a grass plot or parkway.
The work on paving Good Hope Street resumes in the morning after several days idleness owing to the inclement weather; the first block that was concreted, between Frederick and Sprigg streets, is opened in the morning.
