FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Two Cape Girardeau lay leaders -- Mrs. Jeptha Riggs and Dr. W.W. Parker of Cape Girardeau -- are among those chosen at the St. Louis Conference of the Methodist Church here to attend the history-making Methodist general unification conference next April 26 at Kansas City; at that time, the final merger of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the Protestant Methodist Church will be perfected.

The 1938 wild fowl shooting season will begin in Missouri on Saturday, but there is scarcely a wild duck in sight in the district because of the warm weather and lack of rainfall.

Cape Girardeau is getting to be a great city; in the morning, the streets at the corner of Broadway and Main Street become congested when a streetcar, several wagons and three automobiles meet at the crossing; it takes about 10 minutes to get traffic going again.

Col. E.A. Wells of Murphsysboro, Ill., has been engaged to survey and locate an addition to Fornfelt; the addition will be laid out at the north end of the present termination of Ruth Avenue, north of the round house.
