The Missouri State Mental Health Commission has recommended funding for a $4 million, 40-bed residential treatment facility for adolescents on the Southeast Missouri State University campus.
Dr. Harold O. Grauel, professor emeritus of English at Southeast Missouri State University, concludes 23 years of service for the advisory boards of the Missouri School for the Deaf at Fulton and the Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis.

Returning from a statewide relief meeting in Columbia, Mo., local relief officials say the government meat cannery in Cape Girardeau will continue to operate, although with a smaller work force; the beef cannery, now employing 600 persons, and the fodder-preserving project will be the main work-giving jobs in the future for Cape Girardeau County.
If Missouri's Golden Troopers can raise another $1,000 within the next two weeks, the corps will be able to go to Miami, Fla., Oct. 20, to compete for the national championship of American Legion drum and bugle corps.
Mrs. W.H. Leyhe, one of the leaders in musical circles of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, was honored last week with a musical program at the church's hall; Leyhe departed Saturday for St. Louis aboard the steamer Cape Girardeau, of which her husband is captain; she plans to make her home in St. Louis.
A.R. Zoelsmann of the Houck Railroad auditing department is granted his final citizenship papers in the U.S. District Court; he is a native of Germany.
