SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sale of Sikeston Herald, 54-year-old Republican weekly newspaper, is announced by Clint H. Denman, owner and publisher; buyer is newly formed Herald Publishing Co., whose stockholders are Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Blanton Jr., Mrs. C.L. Blanton, M.E. Blanton and Sikeston Publishing Co.

Low water stages have halted Mississippi River traffic at Alton Dam, north of St. Louis, and river is expected to drop still lower as freezing continues in north.
