CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Burlington Northern Railroad employees believe broken rail caused nine cars of freight train to derail north of Chaffee yesterday.

Judge O.A. Knehans has confirmed in Common Pleas Court the selection of James A. Finch as attorney for receiver of Cape Girar-deau Northern Railroad.

Ralph Brissenden of Cape Girardeau, who is now employed in state grain department in St. Louis, is slated to succeed Roye B. Hinkle as state labor commissioner.
