Promotion of Brig. Gen. Russell Boyt, formerly of Cape Girardeau and now commanding general of the 35th Division Command Headquarters in Jefferson City, to major general in the National Guard has gone to the Senate for confirmation; Boyt is a native of Essex, Mo.; he was commanding officer of Co. L, 140th Infantry when the Guard was federalized in December 1940.
