Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wencewicz of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house Aug. 5, 2006. The event was hosted by their children and held at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jeff Worley of Cape Girardeau.
Wencewicz and Dorothy Bergfeld were married Aug. 27, 1966, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Louis, by the Rev. Raphael Grahl. Their attendants were Cathy Bergfeld Berry and Ray Albers.
Their children and spouses are: Ruth Ann Mier of Jackson; Amy (Jeff) Worley; Sara (Tom) Cook of Jackson; Katie (Robert) Michael of Cape Girardeau; Tommy (Cari) Wencewicz of Edwardsville, Ill.; and Timmy Wencewicz of Mishawaka, Ind. They have six grandchildren, Theresa and Paul Mier, Adam and Elecia Worley, Jamison Ashworth, and Abigail Michael.
