Maevers - 40 Years

Mr. and Mrs. James L. Maevers of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner Sept. 18, 2011, at Lambert's in Sikeston, Mo.

Hosts were a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Workman of Texas. Guests attended from Texas; Whitewater, Altenburg, St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, and Doniphan, Mo.; and Memphis, Tenn.

Maevers and Reva Boyer were married Aug. 3, 1971, at Hanover Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Ellis Rottman. Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Blumer.

The Maevers have four children, Debbie (Jerry) Workman, Barbara (Bill) Tedder of Whitewater, Brady (Glenda) Maevers of Altenburg, and Janet Maevers of St. Louis. They have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
