Lowes mark 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard W. Lowes of Cape Girardeau recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They received a special blessing at Mass April 9 at St. Mary's Cathedral, followed by a reception hosted by their children and spouses with approximately 70 guests attending.

Lowes and Helen Jacquemae Alexander were married April 4, 1946, at St. Joseph's Cathedral in San Diego, Calif., by the late Rev. James S. Prusinski. Their attendants were the late Raymond Litka and the late Helena DelBiondo.

The couple's children and spouses are: Mary Ann and Andy Halter and Ken and Linda Lowes of Sikeston, Mo., Richard and Earleen Lowes of Jackson, Jim and Pam Lowes of Edmond, Okla., Steve and Jane Lowes, Greg and Cindy Lowes, David and Edie Lowes and Sara and Fred Gramm, all of Cape Girardeau. They have 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
