SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. Loenneke of Sedgewickville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance March 16, 2002, at the American Legion Hall in Jackson, Mo.
Hosts were their daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces.
Approximately 200 guests attended from Jackson, Cape Girardeau, Burfordville, Benton, Charleston, Millersville, Perryville, Puxico, Dexter, Altenburg, Oak Ridge, Sedgewickville, Hayti, Eureka and Caruthersville in Missouri; Jackson, Tenn.; Sparta and Evansville, Ill.; and Pocahontas, Ark.
Loenneke and Zelma McClard were married March 14, 1952, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jackson by the Rev. H.J. Strickert. Their attendants were Joan Farrow of Cape Girardeau, cousin of Mrs. Loenneke, and Victor Oberbeck of Hayti.
The couple's daughters and spouses are Debra and Charlie Turnbow of Jackson, Mo., Shirley and Clyde McRoberts of Pocahontas, Ark., and Carol and Mike Haley of Sedgewickville. The Loennekes have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
