Lawrences mark 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Jack V. Lawrence of Kansas City, Mo., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Lawrence and Joan Stuckey were married Oct. 30, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Oran, Mo. He is a native of Cape Girardeau and she of Oran.

A graduate of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he was ordained to the ministry in 1971. He retired from the Kansas City Area Transit Authority in 1992.

Mrs. Lawrence retired in 1998 from William Jewell College, where she was administrative assistant 34 years to three presidents.

The couple has a daughter and two grandchildren who reside in the Kansas City area.
