JACKSON, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lampe of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 3, 2002, at Route 25 Banquet Hall.
Lampe and Rita Wehrheim were married Aug. 2, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Their attendants were Donna Wehrheim Parker of Chester, Ill., and Leonard Lampe of Steeleville, Ill.
The couple has lived in Texas, Illinois, Missouri, California and Maryland. They lived in New Haven, Mo., from 1990 until moving to Jackson in June 2000.
Lampe retired as instrumentation supervisor in flight test engineering from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (Boeing) in St. Louis in January 1992. She retired as a cafeteria cook at St. Dominic High School in 1991.
The couple has two children, Pamela Kluesner and husband Randy of Cape Girardeau, and Jeff Lampe of St. Ann, Mo. They have five grandchildren.
