Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kirchdoerfer of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows May 2, 2010, at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Tom Kiefer performed the ceremony.
A dinner followed in St. Mary's School gym.
Kirchdoerfer and Mildred Kluesner were married April 23, 1960, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Mo., by the Rev. A.J. Poepsel.
The bride's attendants were Ernestine Kluesner Bueter, Lavada Heuring Schlegel and Janie Kirn Kluesner. The groom's attendants were Donnie Kielhafner, Lanny Allen and Jerome Kluesner, all deceased.
The Kirchdoerfers are dairy farmers and have lived on their farm all their married life.
The couple has four children, Carl Kirchdoerfer and Edward (Amy) Kirchdoerfer of Cape Girardeau, Glenda (Kendall) Hampton of Sikeston, Mo., and Julie (Keith) Eftink of Chaffee, Mo.
They have seven grandchildren, Tricia, Tyler and Clayton Kirchdoerfer, Nathan and Katie Hampton, Alex and Zachary Eftink.
