Johnson - 50 Years

Mr. and Mrs. Robert "Bob" Johnson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 27, 2011. They plan a trip to San Francisco in October.

Johnson and Sarah Ingersoll were married Aug. 27, 1961, in Unionville, Mo. They met while students at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville.

They have four children, Kenneth Johnson (Donna) of Ball Ground, Ga., the late Jerald Johnson, Mandi Johnson of Atlanta, Ga., and Abby Johnson of Milan, Ga. The couple has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Formerly of McClure, Ill., Johnson is the son of the late Lester and Naomi Randol Johnson. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Department of Defense, and as a colonel from Ohio Air National Guard. Mrs. Johnson was a former substitute teacher and day care provider. They are members of Antioch Baptist Church 2 in Milan.
