James celebrate 50th event
Mr. and Mrs. Robert James of Cape Girardeau recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They attended a Mass of thanksgiving April 19 at St. Mary's Cathedral. Mr. and Mrs. Robert James of Cape Girardeau recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
They attended a Mass of thanksgiving April 19 at St. Mary's Cathedral. They were honored with a reception April 24 at Drury Lodge, given by their children: Ruth Sawyer, Elizabeth Aufdenberg, Anita Essner, Angela Poindexter, Sara Heuer, Robert James Jr., Dennis, Paul, Ralph and Mark James.
James and Marie Kirchdoerfer were married April 19, 1955, at St. Mary's Cathedral by Monsignor Marion Forst.

Their attendants were Adella Kirchdoerfer Frank, Evelyn Siemers Winkler, Mary Ann Frank Hennecke, Donald and Earl James, Joe Kirchdoerfer, David Bacon, and the late Stella Kirchdoerfer Ostendorf.
James is the son of J. Frank and Esther James. Mrs. James is the daughter of Joe and Mary Kirchdoerfer.
He is retired from Drury Co.
The couple has 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
