Hanners observe 50th event

Charles and Gloria Hanners of Jackson were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise family dinner June 24, 2006.

The event was held at the Branding Iron Restaurant, hosted by their sons and families.

The couple was married June 23, 1956, at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church in Sedgewickville, Mo., by the Rev. Jens Larson.

Hanners has been in the insurance business 43 years. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

The couple has two sons, Scott Hanners of Omaha, Neb., and Kent (Sharon) Hanners of St. Charles, Mo. They have four grandchildren.
