Steve and Jackie Griffith of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party for family and friends at Keller's at Isle Casino.
Griffith and the former Jacqueline Burger were married Aug. 6,1966, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Missouri. They were married by the Rev. Clement Ilmburger and on Aug. 6, 2016, had their marriage blessed by the Rev. Michael Casteel at St. Lawrence, their parish.
They have two daughters, Kelly (Mark) Winder of Jackson and Deidre (Adam) Rodgers of Cape Girardeau, and three grandchildren, Jacqueline Belle, Blaise Winder and Cash Rodgers. Kelly, Deidre and their families surprised Steve and Jackie with a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate the occasion.
Steve retired in 2002 from Associates Commercial Corp./Citigroup and Jackie retired from Ameren in 2003. Steve presently marshals at Bent Creek Golf Course and Jackie is with First Missouri State Bank.
Members of the wedding party were the late Mary Robert (Bill) Parks, Brenda Burger (Jim) LeGrand, Carol Kern (Floyd) Klipfel, Shirley Robert (Larry) Williams, Carol Halter (Robert) Jugenheimer and Cindy Enderle (Jimmy) Roberts; and Ken (Sue) Gleason, Dan (Pat) Burger, brother of the bride, George (Verna) Eaker, Oren Jr. (Karen) Ellis, John (Mila) Lohmeier and Jamie (Sherry) Burger, brother of the bride. Almost all of the wedding party celebrated with the couple on their anniversary.
