Goodins married 50 years

James and Carolyn Goodin of Cape Girardeau observed their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 25, 2005. A reception will be held later, hosted by their children.

Goodin and Carolyn Abernathy were married Feb. 25, 1955, at Grace United Methodist Church by the Rev. George Heslar. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Goodin of Charleston, Mo. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Abernathy of Cape Girardeau.

The couple has three children, Robyn and David Gross of Cape Girardeau, Dana and Luigi Vanoni of Italy, and Maj. Michael and Ivonne Goodin of Hawaii.

They have five grandchildren, Danielle and Samantha Gross, Lainey, Erica and Gabriel Goodin.
