The Ebys reside on the family farm near Whitewater. He was employed at Procter & Gamble almost 30 years, retiring in 2002. Mrs. Eby has been teaching 32 years, the last 12 with Delta School District. She is currently teaching communication arts for seventh through ninth grades, is yearbook adviser, and curriculum director.

They are members of Jackson General Baptist Church and sing in the choir.

They have two children, Mike Eby II and Michelle (Alan) Ikerman; and three grandchildren, Gwyneth Faye, Julia Elaine, and Hannah Michelle.
