Deneke - 50 Years

Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Deneke Sr. of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception Feb. 5, 2011, at Celebrations Restaurant in Cape Girardeau.

Hosts were their children.

Deneke and Merle Gossling were married Feb. 11, 1961, at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Elmer and Lillian Deneke of Sikeston, Mo. She is the daughter of Norman and Beulah Gossling of Cape Girardeau.

He retired as an executive with Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors in 1987, after 27 years of service.

The couple has three children, Laura (Randall) Green of Boca Raton, Fla., Robert Jr. (Pam) Deneke of Cape Girardeau, and Karel (John) Arnett of Nortonville, Ky. They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
