Mr. and Mrs. William Hughes Davault of Jackson observed their 67th wedding anniversary Nov. 20, 2008. They will celebrate at a later time.
Davault and Doris Brennecke were married Nov. 20, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Brennecke. Davault is the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. W.W. Davault.
He entered the Army Air Force as a medic. He served 42 months during World War II, 34 of which were in the South Pacific.
Mrs. Davault received bachelor of science and master degrees in business education. After the military, he received a vocational agriculture degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He taught at Maryville, Mo., High School, Bell City, and 21 1/2 years at Jackson High School. She taught at high schools in Delta, Bell City, Oak Ridge, 18 years at Jackson High School, and a semester at Southeast Missouri State University.
The Davaults have two children, Webster Joe and Suzanna. They have five grandchildren, Dax (Marty) and Ian (Janice) Davault; Matthew (Lauren), Kristen (Kristain), and Mark (Tracy) Clippard.
