Cannon -- 60 years

Richard and Delores (Dee) Cannon of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 25 with an open house hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Cannon and the former Delores Hert were married March 16, 1957, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Greeley, Colorado. The Rev. Samuel Wegenast performed the ceremony.

The couple has two children, Shelly Hale of Cape Girardeau and Doug Cannon of Springfield, Missouri. They also have four grandchildren, Ryan, Carly and Jenna Hale and Delaney Cannon, and one great-grandchild, Wolfe Fitzgerald.

Richard retired from the Department of Physics at Southeast Missouri State University in 2000. Dee retired from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in 2003.
