Browns married 50 years

Dale L. and Joyce M. Brown of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Jan. 4, 2003, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. The couple renewed their vows with the Rev. Mike Grant performing the ceremony.

A dinner and dance followed, with music by Mark Rees.

Hosts were their children and spouses, Phil and Terri Brown, Laura and Mike Green, Doug and Teresa Brown, Ron and Donna Brown, all of Jackson, and SFC Curtis Brown in Germany.

Guests attended from Missouri, New York, Iowa, Texas, and Illinois.

The Browns were married Jan. 1, 1953, at the Christian Church in Washington, Iowa.

They have 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
