Blaylocks married 70 years

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Blaylock of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 70th anniversary with an open house Feb. 9, 2006, at their home.

Hosts were their daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Lloyd Daniels of Cape Girardeau.

Blaylock and Chlo Statler were married Feb. 9, 1936, in Portageville, Mo., by the Rev. Ola Bowers, uncle of the groom.

Their attendants were Dean and Phyllis McAlister.

The Blaylocks have resided in Cape Girardeau most of their married life, and attend Centenary United Methodist Church. He is retired from Southwestern Bell.

They have two children, Sally Daniels, and a son Richard who is deceased. They have five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
