Daughter to Gregory Don and Stephanie Gwen Dowdy of Cape Girardeau, Southeast Missouri Hospital, 8:28 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004. Name, Katelyn Rose. Weight, 8 pounds 5 ounces. First child. Mrs. Dowdy is the former Stephanie Thomason, daughter of Ed and Linda Thomason of New Madrid, Mo. She is employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri. Dowdy is the son of Larry and Margaret Dowdy of Cape Girardeau. He is an ad designer at the Southeast Missourian.

Daughter to Eric Alan and Amber Nicole Brewer of Perryville, Mo., Southeast Missouri Hospital, 9:26 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004. Name, Bailey Nicole. Weight, 7 pounds 12 ounces. Mrs. Brewer is the former Amber Layton, daughter of Jack and Denise Layton of Perryville. She is an analyst with Sabreliner Corp. Brewer is the son of Gerald and Patsy Brewer of Perryville. He is an aircraft mechanic at Sabreliner Corp.

Venable

Son to Christopher and Erin Venable of Scott City, Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia, Mo., 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004. Name, Christopher Chase. Weight, 8 pounds 8 ounces. First child. Mrs. Venable is the former Erin Griffin, daughter of Jim and Johnne Griffin of Scott City. She recently completed a master's degree in animal nutrition at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Venable is the son of Jim Mayberry of Glenallen, Mo., and the late Donna Fusilier-Venable. He is employed by state of Missouri Division of Youth Services, and is working toward a master's degree in criminal justice at Southeast Missouri State University.
