First child. Mrs. Puttroff is the former Kathryn Balsamo, daughter of Charles and Sue Balsamo of Cape Girardeau. She is a nurse at Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, Calif. Puttroff is the son of Fred Puttroff of Marion, Kan., and Jan Puttroff of Newton, Kan. He is an infantry officer with the U.S. Marine Corps at Twentynine Palms.

Daughter to Eddie Eugene Messmer and Monica Lynn Leible of Chaffee, Mo., Saint Francis Medical Center, 1:35 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005. Name, Kaytlyn Rose. Weight, 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Second child, first daughter. Ms. Leible is the daughter of Tom and Jennifer Leible of Chaffee and Lisa Haney of Lewistown, Ill. She is a certified nurse assistant at Chaffee Nursing Center. Messmer is the son of Janie and Gerald Simpson of Chaffee and Jan Messmer of Cape Girardeau. He is employed at SEMO Box.

Mrs. Halter is the former Summer Majors, daughter of Hal and Bonnie Majors of Cape Girardeau. Halter is the son of Cheryl Halter of Cape Girardeau and Jerry Halter of Park Hills, Mo. He is employed at Procter & Gamble.
