Smith is the son of Gail Hennecke and Michael A. Smith of Cape Girardeau. He is an account sales representative with SMC Electric Supply in Cape Girardeau.

Glaus is the son of Norman and Diana Glaus of Cape Girardeau. He is pursuing a doctorate in biochemistry at Southern Illinois University.
