Mr. and Mrs. Leon A. Westrich of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a mass Oct. 21, 2000, at St. Mary's Cathedral. Celebrant was Msgr. Richard Rolwing and co-celebrant was the Rev. James A. Seyer.

A dinner and dance followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.

Hosts were their children and spouses: Patricia and David Heisserer, Carolyn Westrich, and David and Mary Westrich, all of Cape Girardeau, Judy and Brent Spaeth of Dallas, Texas, and Thomas and Sharon Westrich of St. Louis.

Assisting were the couple's grandchildren: Tara, Nicholas and Abigail Heisserer; Kirsten Miller; Tyler and Eric Spaeth; Ashley, Ben and Amanda Westrich; and David John and Matthew Westrich.

Guests attended from Chaffee, Scott City, Cape Girardeau, Jackson, St. Louis and Kansas City, Mo.; and the states of Texas, Florida and Minnesota.

Westrich and Hermina Frank were married Oct. 21, 1950, at St. Mary's Cathedral by the Most Rev. Marion F. Forst. Westrich is the son of the late Albert and Estella Enderle Westrich. Mrs. Westrich is the daughter of the late John and Amanda Springer Frank.

Their attendants were the late Marie Frank Kirchdoerfer, Marie Westrich LeGrand, Vera Westrich Redfern, the late Eugene LeGrand, Albert Kirchdoerfer and Robert Vogelsang.

Westrich retired from farming. His wife retired from Procter & Gamble in 1995.
