SHAWNEETOWN, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hecht of Shawneetown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 31, 2001, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson, Mo.
Hosts were their children and spouses, Rick and Sandi Hecht, James and LaRhonda Hecht, and Catherine and Delwayne Wright, all of Jackson.
Guests attended from Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Altenburg, Frohna, Oak Ridge, Pocahontas, St. Louis, Mo., and Murphysboro, Ill.
Hecht and Dorothy Virginia Ruehling were married March 31, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, Mo., by the late Rev. E.J. Dieker. He is the son of the late Rudy and Alieda Hecht. She is the daughter of the late Eldor and Mildred Ruehling.
Their attendants were Elaine Hadler, Arnold Wachter, Beulah Fink, Darlene Bannister, and the late Melvin Hecht.
The couple has seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
