SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Mothershead of Scott City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception Feb. 10, 2001, at Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.
The event was hosted by family and friends.
Mothershead and Betty Jo Zook were married Feb. 11, 1951, at First Baptist Church in Sikeston, Mo., by the Rev. E.D. Owen.

Their attendants were Vera Baugher and Charlie Hartsell.
The couple has a son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Kim Mothershead, and grandchildren Russ Allen, Clay Austin, Kathryn Jo and Julie Anne Mothershead; a daughter-in-law, Christy Mothershead, and a grandson Andrew Robert Mothershead.
A son, Robert Mothershead, and a grandson, Daniel Brian Mothershead, died in 2000.
