JACKSON, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles Propst of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a luncheon and reception July 14, 2001, at New McKendree United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Hosts were their children and spouses, Charles and Francis Propst Jr. of Lake Charles, La., and Phyllis and Barry Sander of Jackson. Members of Wesleyan Circle of United Methodist Women provided the meal.

Grandchildren Melissa and Mason Sander attended the guest book. Serving at the reception were Laverne Nothdurft, sister of Mrs. Propst, and Francis Propst. Vocalist was Lori White, a niece of the couple.

Guests attended from Dallas, Farmers Branch and Richardson, Texas; Tulsa, Okla.; Carrollton, Jerseyville and Neoga, Ill.; Advance, Bismarck, Benton, Cape Girardeau, Chaffee, Chesterfield, Desloge, Dutchtown, Farmington, Gordonville, Jackson, Oran, and Sullivan, Mo.

Propst and Willa Dean White were married July 14, 1951, at Arbor General Baptist Church by the late Rev. Ernest Dapp. Their attendants were the late Wanda Lee White Crites and Norman Brase.

He is the son of the late Walter and Cora Propst of Dutchtown. Mrs. Propst is the daughter of the late C.E. and Flora White of Chaffee.

The Propsts have been members of New McKendree Church 44 years.
