Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Bock of Cape Girardeau celebrated their golden wedding anniversary May 20, 2000, at the Osage Community Centre. Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Bock of Cape Girardeau celebrated their golden wedding anniversary May 20, 2000, at the Osage Community Centre.

Hosts for the buffet dinner were their sons Burton and Bradley Bock of Cape Girardeau; Brian Bock and wife Bonnie of Oakville, and their children Nathan, Amanda and Adam Bock.

Pollyanna Heise Strothmann of Indianapolis, Ind., was guest book attendant. She also attended the guest book at the couple's wedding reception.

Brian Bock was master of ceremonies and Charles Rauh of Perryville gave the invocation. Jennifer Jolls of Phoenix, Ariz., niece of the couple, provided piano music. Her mother, Kathryn Jolls of Cape Girardeau and sister of Mrs. Bock, led a sing-along of songs from the 1950s.

Martha Heise Reeder of Indianapolis and daughters Leslie Willan of Indianapolis and Stephanie Roth of Belleville, Ill., served the cake. They were assisted by the Bocks grandchildren. Reeder is a cousin of Mrs. Bock.

Diane Rommel sang songs from the wedding, accompanied by Joyce Macke, cousin of Mrs. Bock.

Bock and Jo Ann Burton were married May 21, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. F.H. Melzer. Two members of the wedding party attending were Kathryn Jolls, honor attendant, and Martha Reeder, candlelighter. Bock's brother, the late Paul E. Bock, was best man.

Mr. and Mrs. Bock have lived in Cape Girardeau all their married life. They are retired from Cape Girardeau Public Schools, both being on the faculty at Central High School.
