CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Zeta Marie Simms, 74, of Chaffee passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, to Edward and Louise W. Hessee Ackman. She and Russell Simms were married Oct. 15, 1975. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1993.
Zeta was a self-employed house cleaner. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include a son, Edison Elliott of Sioux Falls, Iowa; a daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Wilburn of Chaffee; three sisters, Velma (Bob) Shephard of Cape Girardeau, Burna Walker of Jackson and Sharon (Norman) Chapman of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Ackman of Jackson; five grandchildren, Kelsie and Cassie Wilburn, Brandi Taylor, Douglas and Kyle Elliott; and 13 stepgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Jeff Crandell officiating.
