STEELE -- Funeral service for Zelmer R. Flood of Steele was held Sunday at Bradshaw Funeral Home here. The Rev. Vernon Reaves officiated, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
Flood, 93, died Friday, March 15, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 2, 1902, in Clifton, Tenn., daughter of Benjamin and Allie Singleton Grindstaff. She married Joe B. Flood Sept. 12, 1923, in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death.
Flood was a member of the General Baptist Church in Denton.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Flood of Cape Girardeau, Bobby Flood of Sparks, Nev.; a brother, Kit Grindstaff of Granite City, Ill.; a sister, Lydia Beeson of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, five sisters and five brothers.
