Zelma Bennett, 86, of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Jackson, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, in Franklin. She was born Oct. 13, 1930, in Parma, Missouri, daughter of Arthur and Tealy Mae Eaton Nolan. She and John Thomas Bennett were married April 22, 1956. Zelma Bennett, 86, of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Jackson, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, in Franklin.

She was born Oct. 13, 1930, in Parma, Missouri, daughter of Arthur and Tealy Mae Eaton Nolan. She and John Thomas Bennett were married April 22, 1956. She and John celebrated over 50 years of marriage, when he passed away April 2, 2007.

Zelma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Franklin ward congregation.

Loving survivors include two sons, Gordon (Michelle) Bennett of Franklin and Robert (Ginger) Bennett of Apex, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Brian, Whitney, Craig, Hannah, Spencer, Chelsea, Alex and Morgan; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shauna Bennett, on Oct. 13, 2016; a brother, Robert "Bob" Nolan; and four sisters, Roxie Humphrey, Willie Greer, Ilean Farrow and Florence Farrow.

Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 1048 W. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in McLain's Chapel Cemetery near Oriole.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to your favorite humanitarian fund in memory of Zelma Bennett.
