ALTO PASS, Ill. -- Funeral for Zelda T. Widdows of Alto Pass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass. The Rev. Gilbert Gee will officiate, with burial in Alto Pass Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Widdows, 94, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born Jan. 11, 1904, in Burnside, daughter of C.J. and Mary Bradfield Thomas. She and John Franklin Widdows were married Feb. 27, 1926, in Wheaton.
Widdows was an elementary school teacher 25 years in the districts of Macedonia, Mt. Glen, Wagner, Pleasant Hill, and Alton. She attended Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Donna Beeson of Casey; two sons, Darrell "Tom" and John Widdows of Alto Pass; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandsons.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
