OZARK, Mo. -- Sidney "Yvonne" Carter, 77, daughter of the late Sidney and Adda Lee "Jane" Finney Duffell, was born May 24, 1944, in Morley, Missouri, and departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at her home in Ozark.
She was united in marriage to Mitchell "Mickey" Carter on Jan. 3, 1961, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death.
She was a dedicated Red Cross volunteer, a talented artist and loved spending time with her friends playing her fiddle and guitar. She spent many hours doing one of her favorite hobbies: researching her family genealogy. Yvonne loved her big family and loved spending special quality time with them.
Surviving her are two daughters, Deborah Davenport and Lisa (Bryan) Loyd, both of Ozark; son, Mark (Teresa) Carter, also of Ozark; brother, Larry (Phyllis) Duffell; three sisters, Darlene (John) Kleyer, Diane Duffell and Genice (Gary) Eck.
Mickey and Yvonne had the fortune to be able to raise two of their grandchildren, Angeline (Justine) Carter and Thomas Lakin. She was graced with five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-stepgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Funeral service will then be conducted at noon Saturday at the chapel. Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
