SIKESTON, Mo. -- Winston Wallace Carden, 75, of Sikeston died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born April 21, 1929, in Battle Creek, Mich., son of Arvil Winston and Annie Mae Mathis Carden. He and Sally Ruth Carr were married May 22, 1966.

Carden was formerly of East Prairie, Mo. He was a retired tow boat captain, and member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Erlan Carden of Eclectic, Ala., Roger Carden of East Prairie, John Carden of Sikeston, Donald Carden of Montgomery, Ala.; three daughters, Gloria Macon of Montgomery, Linda Tylicki of Wetumpka, Ala., Anita Carden of Montgomery; a brother, Dan Carden of Eclectic; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, two brothers, a sister, and a great-granddaughter.

The funeral was held Monday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Aubrey Wilson officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
