Winnie L. Riehn, 84, of Cape Girardeau departed this life to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at her home.
She was born Dec. 30, 1927, daughter of Charles August and Mary Riehn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Albert of Oklahoma, who passed away in 1967.
Winnie, a devoted mother, was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral for over 50 years and was previously a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in south Cape Girardeau. She loved to travel by car, view Christmas lights, play rummy and was a loyal John Wayne fan. She laughed a lot and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren caused her to smile the most!
She is survived by a son, Charles B. Riehn and wife Alice of Olathe, Kan.; two grandchildren, David Riehn and wife Sara and Katie Whitaker and husband Brian of Lawrence, Kan. She also leaves her beloved great-grandchildren, Cale Whitaker and Lily Riehn. She is also survived by her best friends, Frieda Seyer and Wilma Webb of Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Seyer of St. Mary's Cathedral officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
