MILLERSVILLE -- Winfred "Winnie" Miller, 77, of Millersville died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1992 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 6, 1915 at Millersville, the son of Truman B. Miller and Alice R. Estes Miller.

On Feb. 3, 1936, he married Mabel Stearns. She survives.

He is also survived by one son, Rodney Miller, Millersville; one daughter, Greta Myers, Bloomfield; one brother, Kelly Miller, Stockton, Calif.; one sister, Rada Lou Kamp, Jackson; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Miller was life-long resident of the Millersville community. He worked for the former Kroger grocery in Jackson from 1935 to 1944. He also drove a Mobile gasoline delivery truck.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

In 1944, he became rural route mail carrier for Millersville route, retiring in 1976.

He was a member of American Legion post in Jackson where he was a past commander; a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees; the Millersville United Methodist Church, where held various offices; and a charter member of Water District 2 in Millersville.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson with the Rev. Michael Woods, officiating assisted by the Rev. Daniel Hale.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An American Legion Honor Guard service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
